Job Overview
Opened in 2020, the **Pillars of Prospect Park** is conveniently located off the light rail transit station and close to the metro bus near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. This senior living community features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living, and 44 memory care apartments. Two buildings make up this vibrant community and also encompass an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center. This Temporary **Life Enrichment Director** is responsible for planning and implementing a quality leisure/social events program designed to assist residents in maintaining their personal potential both physically and mentally.
Responsibilities
+ Program Development and Resident Engagement:
+ Designs and implements meaningful programs and activities that reflect residents’ interests and psychosocial needs.
+ Conducts assessments to identify individual preferences, needs, and areas for growth.
+ Develops personalized activity care plans to promote engagement and well-being.
+ Plans, coordinates, and facilitates daily activities and special events.
+ Encourages resident participation through inclusive and motivating approaches.
+ Monitors and evaluates resident involvement to ensure continued independence and high performance.
+ Communicates and aligns activity programming with other facility events for a cohesive experience.
+ Staff Leadership and Supervision:
+ Recruits, trains, and supervises Life Enrichment Assistants to ensure high-quality program delivery.
+ Implements clear work guidelines and policies to support staff understanding and performance.
+ Provides ongoing coaching and support to team members.
+ Resident Support and Psychosocial Well-being:
+ Promotes resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
+ Supports residents in building confidence and social connections through group activities.
+ Assists in the development of interpersonal relationships and effective socialization.
+ Observes and reports changes in resident mood, behavior, or physical condition to appropriate staff.
+ Maintains open communication with family members regarding resident participation and well-being.
+ Conducts orientation and assessments for new residents to tailor activity plans to their interests.
+ Volunteer Coordination and Community Engagement:
+ Adheres to volunteer onboarding procedures and policies.
+ Develops systems to effectively integrate volunteers into resident programs.
+ Recruits, trains, assigns, and supervises volunteers to enhance program quality.
+ Recognizes and celebrates volunteer contributions.
+ Builds relationships with local organizations to foster community involvement.
+ Administrative Responsibilities:
+ Develops and updates policies and procedures related to activity programming.
+ Serves as the primary contact for community organizations and partnerships.
+ Conducts resident focus groups and one-on-one meetings to gather feedback and preferences.
+ Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
+ Responds appropriately to resident and facility emergencies.
+ Operates facility transportation (e.g., bus) and ensures resident safety during outings.
Required Qualifications
+ Associate of Science Associate Degree – Activity Director, COTA, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy
+ 2 years experience in Assisted Living or SNF programming
+ Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications
+ Is flexible and willing to expand and adapt to changes in the Assisted Living field
+ Drivers License Current Driver’s License (in good standing)
+ Medical Exam Certification
+ Must be at least 18-years old
+ Must be insured under the employers Auto Insurance Coverange
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Arts Bachelor's Degree - Therapeutic Recreation or Music Therapy
+ Three to Five Years experience
