Job Description:

PCIe Embedded FW Developer

Broadcom Data Center Solutions Group

As an Embedded FW Developer, you will be responsible for specing and developing embedded FW that runs on an ARM processor in a real time environment on a PCIe switch. You will be involved in developing FW that meets customer and SW release requirements. You will actively work with software test and silicon development teams. You will also be involved with bring-up of new silicon and boards. This is a hands-on role requiring significant interaction with development boards containing a PCIe switch.

Essential Functions:

+ **Develop and document new FW features for a software development kit.**

+ **Review software test plans.**

+ **Develop unit tests.**

+ **Work cross functionally with silicon development, architects, test teams, and marketing to deliver embedded FW**

+ **Hands on ability to bring-up FW on new silicon, boards and systems**

+ **Lab troubleshooting and debug skills, especially related to PCIE hosts, switches, and EP’s.**

+ **Strong C based programming skills as well as scripting knowledge.**

Requirements:

+ **BS in Computer Science or similar**

+ **2+ years of experience in software development. Ideally in embedded FW.**

+ **Excellent understanding of programming languages, SW development flows, and production SW test policies and practices**

Preferred Background:

+ **Experience in datacenter technologies, especially PCIe, storage, networking or machine learning**

+ **Good working knowledge of PCIe.**

+ **Embedded FW development experience.. Knowledge of SW development in a RTOS and highly efficient embedded systems**

+ **Good understanding of data center SW stacks (storage, networking, machine learning, etc…)**

+ **Familiarity with HW components, boards, and systems**

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $81,000 - $130,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
