As we expand, we're looking for a Computer / Electrical Engineer for Summer 2026. As an intern you will gain hands-on experience with our custom hardware and software products. You can expect to gain meaningful technical experience while helping us accelerate our product development, production, and deployment of our state-of-the-art sensor network.

**Location:** This position is onsite in the Syracuse, NY office.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will…

+ Evaluate next generation hardware, analyze results and make recommendations to the design team.

+ Collaborate across engineering disciplines to design and develop advanced sensor products.

+ Work in a motivated, cross-disciplinary team passionate about solving challenging problems and delivering results.

+ Receive mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

+ Use 3D solid modeling to design mechanical solutions for tightly controlled enclosures and fixtures

+ Assist with or perform structural, thermal, and other failure analyses to meet environmental and structural requirements

+ Optimize designs for feasibility, manufacturability, cost, thermal performance, strength-weight efficiency, and ease of assembly

+ Create and maintain cable assemblies/harnesses and other peripheral interface designs

+ Solve design challenges using a variety of materials and fabrication methods including plastics, composites, metals, 3D-printing, machining, etc.

+ Define, maintain, and communicate requirements to 3rd-party fabrication houses and work closely with them through component and product delivery

+ Perform design verification and integration of new components and support field testing

+ Author assembly instructions and drawings in support of in-house production

+ Aid with the management of bills of material (BOM) and other production and fabrication artifacts

+ Review hardware parts for obsolescence and identify suitable replacements

+ Assist with or provide information in support of project planning, execution, and oversight

Required Qualifications:

+ Enrolled in an accredited degree program majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

+ Completed Sophomore year or greater by Summer 2026.

+ A minimum grade point average of 3.4. Recent transcript is required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration.

+ Strong desire to learn and great communication skills.

+ Some experience using 3D CAD modeling tools such as SolidWorks

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen

+ Ability to travel up to 10%

**Compensation and Benefits:** Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, and disability insurance. The company also provides a remote or hybrid work environment and potential stock options.

**Salary Range** : The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $23.00 to $27.00 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
