    Required Education/Experience

    + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years' of engineering work experience in the development and application of technical principles in substation equipment rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance.

    Relevant Work Experience

    + Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), required.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.

    + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels, required.

    + Knowledge in basic engineering design and principles, required.

    + Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments, preferred.

    + Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards associated with the equipment, preferred.

    Licenses and Certifications

    + Driver's License Required

    + Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred

    Physical Demands

    + Ability to respond to system emergencies

    + Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold

    + Perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions

    + Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies

    + Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses

    + Use personal vehicle(s), and be able to transport, store, and secure company laptops and other job-related equipment in vehicle. Acknowledge that reimbursement for use of personal vehicle is available through the company mileage procedure

    Additional Physical Demands

    + The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

    + The positions involve working around electrical equipment, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and ladder climbing.

    + Ability to work in and around substations that are under construction and/or in service.

    + Ability to work additional hours, as needed, for system emergencies or equipment outage schedules.
