  • Marketing Manager, Global Strategy & Growth…

    AON (Chicago, IL)

    Apply Now

At Aon, we don’t just manage risks for the world’s most complex organizations—we help them thrive. What if your next challenge could transcend industries, global markets, and the boundaries of traditional marketing?

We’re searching for a Global Marketing Manager, a hands-on maestro who sees strategic brand campaigns not as projects, but as narratives in motion. You’ll be the creative spark and strategic enabler partnering directly with our Global Head of Marketing Strategy—Risk Capital to breathe life into big ideas and translate them into client-centered campaigns that drive awareness and real growth.

Our world is matrixed and multifaceted. You’ll collaborate with regional marketers, centres of excellence, and specialist brand/content teams, building bridges between vision and execution. But make no mistake, this isn’t just a seat at the strategy table. It’s a roll-up-your-sleeves, write-the-story, launch-the-campaign kind of role.

+ You own the campaign journey: from plotting client-driven growth strategies to sculpting content that commands attention—across every channel and touchpoint.

+ You are our brand’s voice: a storyteller, copywriter, and marketer who pivots effortlessly from thought leadership pieces to internal comms, always linking brand heartbeat to demand generation.

+ You thrive in complexity: balancing competing priorities across regions, divisions, and deadlines, making matrix ambiguity your playground.

+ You lead by collaborating: managing colleagues, not just stakeholders, and elevating those around you. You choose action, but never without sharp, insightful thinking.

+ You want to build, not just advise: joining us as an individual contributor, with opportunity to grow and potentially lead as our structure evolves.

We value capability over tenure. If you’ve shaped marketing for complex global organizations, delivered B2B campaigns in “matrix-think” environments, and believe risk deserves a bold, human story—come build with us.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

Lead and coordinate global strategic and growth marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand, content and demand generation goals and business priorities.

+ Translate complex business strategies into compelling, market-winning campaigns rooted in client needs and global/multinational risk perspectives.

+ Partner with key stakeholders to shape ideas, materials, and delivery timelines.

+ Craft high-quality marketing content for diverse audiences, including clients, prospects, thought leadership platforms, and internal stakeholders.

+ Support end-to-end campaign management: from ideation and strategy through to execution, measurement, and continuous improvement.

+ Manage multiple projects with competing priorities in a complex matrix environment, always ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes exceeded.

+ Act as a brand steward—preserving voice, tone, and story consistency across channels and touchpoints.

+ Champion client-first storytelling, bringing our unique value to life across industries, risk sectors, and global markets.

+ Provide hands-on support for communications and marketing needs, proactively identifying content gaps and new opportunities.

    How this opportunity is different

As our Global Marketing Manager, Strategic & Growth Campaigns you’ll be a driving force behind strategic brand and growth campaigns, propelling our reputation in the risk management and transfer space worldwide.

This role involves significant strategic input but is first and foremost hands-on—a “doing” role where thinking meets action. You’ll write, create, coordinate and deliver standout marketing content and impactful internal communications and colleague education and enablement content, always viewing the world through the client’s lens.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

+ Significant experience in global marketing, B2B campaigns, and content creation, ideally within matrix organizations or complex business structures.

+ Deep understanding of brand and content marketing best practices, with a focus on demand generation.

+ Outstanding copywriting, storytelling, and communication skills—able to translate sophisticated topics into engaging, client-driven messages.

+ Track record managing projects end-to-end across functions, geographies, and teams.

+ Comfortable working as an individual contributor with opportunity to grow and potentially lead teams.

+ Hardworking, detail-oriented, collaborative team player, able to manage colleagues (not just stakeholders) and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.

+ Flexible attitude—Need to work across all global time zones with potential for occasional business travel.

+ Passion for creating campaigns that bridge brand awareness and business growth

+ Expertise in navigating matrix organizations and collaborating across borders

    + Bachelor’s degree (marketing qualifications a plus)

+ Ability to work in-office 3 days per week

+ Ready for the next career step—a global remit and a blank page

We invite you to bring your story—and help us shape ours.
