    Why Patients Need you

At Pfizer, our purpose is to deliver breakthroughs that transform patients' lives. Central to this mission is our Research and Development team, which strives to convert advanced science and cutting-edge technologies into impactful therapies and vaccines. Whether you are engaged in discovery sciences, ensuring drug safety and efficacy, or supporting clinical trials, your role is crucial. You will leverage innovative design and process development capabilities to expedite the delivery of top-tier medicines to patients globally.

    How You Will Achieve it

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Ph. D. graduate to join our Mass Spectrometry Technologies team in Drug Safety R&D. The role involves developing and implementing a mass spectrometry-based spatial proteomics platform to support oncology investigations. The successful candidate will leverage cutting-edge mass spectrometry and spatial proteomics technologies-including laser capture microdissection (LCM) and data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry (DIA-MS)-to elucidate the heterogeneity of tumor microenvironments, therapeutic distribution, and mechanisms of toxicity in solid tumors. This role offers valuable experience in drug development and drug safety, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

    Key Responsibilities

+ Design and optimize spatial proteomics protocols combining LCM and DIA-MS, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies (Leica LMD, Thermo Astral Zoom MS) to generate high-quality datasets from low-input tissue material.

+ Apply AI-based image analysis to guide tissue selection and enhance workflow precision and throughput.

+ Map protein localization within tumor microenvironments and evaluate tumor penetration and distribution of therapeutics to gain insights into therapeutic responses, disease and tox mechanisms.

+ Participate in all phases of mass spectrometry lab operations, including sample preparation, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.

+ Work in a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry laboratory, engaging with cross-functional teams across Drug Safety R&D and Pfizer.

+ Maintain rigorous electronic records and data storage.

+ Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at both internal and external forums.

    Must Have:

+ Ph.D. in Analytical Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field (0-2 years postdoctoral experience).

+ No more than 2 years of post-degree experience.

+ Experience in MS-based proteomics, including sample preparation workflows, high-resolution MS, nanoLC systems, associated instrument and analytical software packages.

+ Experience in laser capture microdissection and/or other techniques for spatial analysis (IHC, immunofluorescence).

+ Strong written and oral communication skills.

+ Demonstrated scientific curiosity, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

+ Successful record of scientific accomplishments evidenced by scientific publications and/or presentations with at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal

+ Willingness to make a minimum 2-year commitment

    Preferred Qualifications:

+ Understanding of oncology, toxicology, or drug development.

    Other Job Details:

    + Work Location On premise

+ **Must have work authorization in the US.**
