    The wage range listed represents the potential compensation opportunities for this position. Starting salary will be thoughtfully determined by the hiring manager based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, education, relevant skills, and qualifications brought to the role. The initial offer could be any amount within the posted range, reflecting our commitment to fair and competitive compensation.

    Our Customer’s Mission:

    Team Epsilon has been chosen to deliver full-spectrum IT and Cyber Security support to a critical and enduring multinational organization within the United States Department of Defense. This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation’s most coveted and capable platforms. Our role in this mission involves managing classified environments, supporting international partners and foreign military sales (FMS) clients, providing top-tier desk-side support, and offering adaptable enterprise infrastructure solutions. Our services, ranging from systems administration and network engineering to Information security and data center management, are essential to the mission's success, so we’re looking for team members who are committed to delivering excellence without compromise and who view customer service as a top priority.

    An average day:

    As Security Specialist I, you will support the security operations of a Department of Defense (DoD) facility by managing access control, monitoring security systems, managing classified materials, and ensuring compliance with physical security regulations. This role involves overseeing daily security activities, collaborating with a Mid-Level Security Specialist, and implementing measures to protect the facility, personnel, and classified materials. Additionally, in this position you will:

     

    + Implement and enforce physical security measures in accordance with federal regulations, including the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).

    + Provide construction surveillance support during the development of a new secure facility, monitoring for security compliance and threats.

    + Manage access control systems, including maintaining access rosters and issuing and revoking facility badges.

    + Monitor and respond to alarms, surveillance systems, and other security equipment to ensure facility safety.

    + Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.

    + Oversee visitor management processes, including verification of clearance levels and escort requirements.

    + Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for physical security operations.

    + Assist in the management of classified materials by ensuring proper procedures for handling, storage, and destruction in accordance with NISPOM and ICD requirements.

    + Maintain accurate inventory and accountability records for classified documents and materials, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.

    + Support classified material transmission by coordinating and verifying secure delivery methods in compliance with government regulations.

    + Collaborate with the Mid-Level Security Officer to implement and update security protocols and policies.

    + Investigate and document security incidents, reporting findings to appropriate authorities.

    + Conduct security training and briefings for personnel to promote awareness of physical security policies.

    + Assist with audits and inspections by government agencies and external security partners.

    + Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with facility security requirements.

    + Maintain records and documentation related to physical security operations and incidents.

    + Support emergency response planning and drills to ensure facility readiness.

    + Stay updated on changes to physical security regulations and emerging technologies.

    + Perform other duties as assigned to enhance overall facility security.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

    + Bachelor’s degree in security, criminal justice, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent experience.

    + 1–2 years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, or related roles, preferably in a DoD or classified environment.

    + Familiarity with security regulations, including NISPOM, ICDs, and DoD physical security requirements.

    + Experience with procedures for handling, storing, and transmitting classified materials, including adherence to NISPOM and ICD guidelines.

    + Knowledge of physical security systems, such as access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.

    + Experience with access control platforms (e.g., Lenel, AMAG) and surveillance technologies (e.g., CCTV, IP cameras).

    + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills for creating reports, SOPs, and conducting briefings.

    + Familiarity with security databases such as DISS (preferred).

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard documentation tools.

    Other Requirements:

    + Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility. ( _This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust. Adjudication of the required Security Clearance or Public Trust is determined solely by the government. If the government determines that the candidate cannot obtain and/or maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust, Epsilon will be unable to place the candidate in this position.)_

    + Will be subject to a federal background investigation.

    + Requires on-site presence during construction and normal business operations.

    + Periodic travel to support security audits or inspections may be necessary.

    + A fixed shift schedule will be assigned at the time of hire based on operational needs. All shifts fall within our operating hours of Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST.

    + An on-call rotation for emergencies may be required for this position. Must be able to be onsite in Manassas, VA within 30-minutes when called in to address an incident.
