Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Director, Safety- Occupational Health to support the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. The Director is responsible for partnering with Medical and Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) teams across the business to create an effective Occupational Health program delivery model.
Responsibilities:
+ Partner with contracted on-site medical teams across Combat Mission Systems to establish employee care model, which includes, but will not be limited to, initial treatment, follow-up protocols, outside clinic relationship building & management, promoting worker safety, managing injuries and illnesses, and returning workers to duties in a caring and efficient manner.
+ Contracted on-site medical teams will be responsible for immediate and follow-up care of injured and ill employees. As needed, this role will serve as resource for on-site medical teams to consult with on medical treatment.
+ Coordinate with contracted on-site medical teams on the filing of workers' compensation claims to include obtaining all required documents to be provided to the third-party administrator.
+ Manage Combat Mission Systems relationship with Worker s Compensation Third Party Administrator with Inc. Risk Management team to improve return to work practices and control costs.
+ Support development, maintenance, and administration of Occupational Health programs across the business.
+ Work with Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) team members to champion healthy work conditions across the business to reduce or eliminate health hazards for employees.
+ Conduct data analysis on injury and illness trends to inform business leadership on causation, demographics, and other trends.
+ Partner with on-site Medical and SHE teams to establish Job Demand Analysis (JDA) form to capture and build Essential Job Functions (EJF) library for the business.
+ Deliver training and support in professional development of SHE and Medical teams across the Combat Mission Systems business.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
+ Experience in Occupational Health
+ Functional and technical knowledge of Occupational Health and skills at a high level of accomplishment
+ Knowledge of Occupational Health related programs, including managing worker safety, injury and illness, return to work, workers compensation, etc.
+ High level of effectiveness in a changing, fast-paced environment
+ Customer focused, collaborative, and able to effectively operate in a highly matrixed organization
+ Ability to work independently, take initiative, make improvements to the function, and drive Safety and Health excellence and performance
+ Ability to interpret and apply Federal OSHA and local codes
+ Ability to plan, develop, and conduct training to employees throughout different levels of the organization
+ Ability to maintain a professional attitude and defuse unsettled situations to create a safety and health culture of employee awareness
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
+ Strong data analysis, reporting, and computer skills
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Occupational Health Degree or Certification
+ Experience in Occupational Health within Defense or Heavy Industrial industries
+ Experience in local and federal workers' compensation programs
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
