Summary About the Position: The position is located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Raystown Lake Project. Our mission is to deliver public and military engineering services to strengthen our Nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters. Responsibilities Provides preventative and routine maintenance requirements for newly completed equipment and systems for inclusion in the Facilities Equipment Maintenance (FEM) control program. Oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance control program and related automated data system at a project office with a significantly large and complex annual maintenance budget. Gathers background data in preparation of budget submissions; provides estimates on certain areas such as supplies, utilities, cost of recurring contracts, and Automated Data Processing (ADP) needs. Compiles, prepares and generates various reports, records, statistics, listings, charts, and graphs, or other project related information. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Entering/maintaining maintenance information in automated management maintenance systems, such as Facilities Equipment Maintenance (FEM) control program; 2) Maintaining inventory and property records. 3) Assisting project staff in resolving a variety of administrative problems requiring the application of various guidelines; and 4) Answering inquiries about change order status, modification status, and other contract status questions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Facilities Operations Management Technology Application Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
