The Genomics Core Facility (GenCore) at NYU’s Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) is seeking a full-time senior laboratory associate as the Genomics Core Operations Manager. GenCore supports multiple projects and research initiatives in the NYU Biology Department. The Facility includes flow cytometry, next generation sequencing, robotics and several other specialized high-throughput instruments.
Responsibilities include:
• Oversee the day to day operations
• Supervise and train GenCore technicians
• Implement new technologies and design high throughput experimental protocols
• Consult with researchers on Core needs
• Manage the cost recovery efforts of the Genomics Core budgets
• Compile and process all service invoices
• Manage all purchasing and service contracts
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and train on all next-generation sequencing
platforms and shared equipment
• Meet regularly with CGSB Faculty Directors to provide updates and set priorities
• Maintain frequent contact with all Biology staff
• Maintain a high standard of customer service, and lab efficiency
• Maintain lab stocks and inventory
• Ensure health and safety regulations are met

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $ 80,000 – 90,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or life science
• At least 2 years of research experience
• Genomics and molecular biology experience
• Effective oral and communication skills
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
• Outstanding customer based skills
• Master's degree in biology, chemistry or life science fields preferred
• Laboratory management experience preferred
