    OMA&D has an outstanding opportunity open for a** **_Temporary_** **Program Operations Specialist.

     

    The Program Operations Specialist must demonstrate sound judgment, expertise, and a deep understanding of best practices in youth development, family engagement, K-12 education, financial aid, and first-year college support. The role requires familiarity with GEAR UP policies and regulations and the educational landscape for low-income and first-generation students. It also requires coordination with 13 school district partners across four counties—including school administrators, principals, counselors, teachers, GEAR UP coordinators, and staff—and community partners to provide comprehensive support to students. This position requires the ability to manage multiple work-streams with varying deadlines across a wide range of stakeholders. The Program Operations Specialist must be detail-oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively to execute tasks in a fast-paced, grant-funded environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    35% Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the GEAR UP PATH grant, including oversight of statewide student events, partner coordination, professional development, and compliance with reporting timelines. Exercise independent judgment in resolving logistical and operational challenges to ensure program success.

     

    15% Oversee fiscal operations for the grant, including budget planning, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting. Independently interpret and apply University and federal grant policies to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance.

     

    10% Lead the preparation of grant-related reports by gathering and analyzing documentation, drafting summaries, and coordinating data collection. Ensure timely and accurate submission of federal and internal reports.

     

    10% Design and manage systems for tracking program deliverables, timelines, and evaluation metrics. Use data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement of program strategies.

     

    30% Other Duties as Assigned/Represent the program in internal and external meetings and support the development of policies and procedures that enhance program effectiveness.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor's Degree and 2 years Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines, Experience working is a K-12 or post -secondary education setting, providing access services for students and parents or experience working with programs like; Gear Up, College Advising Corps, Trio programs, STAR, and LSAMP.

     

    Experience working in Bilingual and/or bi-cultural environments and engaging students and families Knowledge of GEAR UP RISE UP partner schools, regional initiatives and communities Knowledge of WA State Post Secondary Institutions and pathways, including college admissions and finance.

     

    _Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration._
