Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Versant Media is seeking a seasoned Manager, Creative Project Planning to lead and coordinate high-impact creative initiatives across set design and build projects, real-time graphics, and innovation-driven productions. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep production experience and a passion for operational excellence in creative environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution
+ Oversee end-to-end planning and execution of set design/builds, real-time graphic initiatives, and innovation projects.
+ Maintain and optimize real-time project management software to ensure visibility, accountability, and timely delivery.
+ Track project milestones, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent initiatives.
+ Stakeholder Communication
+ Serve as the central point of contact for internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
+ Facilitate regular status updates, ensuring alignment on timelines, responsibilities, and expectations.
+ Proactively identify and resolve project risks and roadblocks.
Financial Coordination
+ Collaborate with Finance to initiate and manage purchase orders, track budgets, and ensure timely vendor payments.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all financial transactions related to creative projects.
Production Expertise
+ Apply deep knowledge of studio and field production environments to anticipate needs and streamline workflows.
+ Ensure all creative projects adhere to production standards, timelines, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 10 years' experience in production environments, with a strong understanding of studio and field operations.
+ Proven track record in managing complex creative projects from concept to completion.
+ Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Airtable, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar).
+ Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and deadline-driven environment.
+ Experience working with cross-functional teams including creative, technical, finance, and external vendors.
Preferred Skills:
+ Familiarity with real-time graphics workflows and emerging production technologies.
+ Experience in set design and fabrication processes.
+ Budget management and vendor negotiation skills.
Additional Information
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
