Primary Purpose
Observes and performs routine manual functions in the performance of installation, rearrangement, operation, maintenance and repair of all Underground, Transmission and Distribution Systems and associated equipment. This job requires employees to pass progression testing and meet up or out provisions.
Primary Duties
+ Sets up work protective equipment, safety tests manholes, opens manholes and performs related general housekeeping functions necessary to maintain safe work areas. Drives company vehicles.
+ Cleans, lubricates hand tools and operates and maintains various mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment as directed. May be required to use digging tools.
+ Secures, loads, delivers, unloads, assembles, places in position and distributes tools, materials, supplies and other equipment to higher classified employees as needed. Heats and prepares compound and solder for splicing.
+ Performs the less involved routine manual assignments in conjunction with assisting higher classified employees in the performance of their assigned duties. Observes all operations of higher classified employees. Perform directed assignments as required.
+ Carry and respond to pager during normal working hours.

This job requires employees to pass progression testing and meet up or out provisions.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Ability to observe conditions, learn work methods and to follow verbal as well as written instructions.
+ Ability to identify and use various hand tools and power tools.
+ Possess valid private motor vehicle operator's permits.
+ Ability to obtain a Class A restricted Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement.
+ Become familiar with Company safety regulations and general First-Aid methods.
+ Ability to write, speak, read, comprehend and communicate clearly and accurately in the English language.
+ Must be willing and able to work overtime on a regular basis and must be available for call out overtime, consistent with the Labor Agreement.

+ Hourly rates will be paid in accordance with terms of the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience or collective bargaining agreement: $26.28/Hr.
