+ POSITION SUMMARY
+ Reports To:
+ Program Director, Wound Care
+ Summary:
+ The Hyperbaric Tech, under the direction of the Medical Director, Program Director and/or Clinical Coordinator of the Wound Healing Center, administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. Performs duties under supervision of the Hyperbaric Provider, Program Director, Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, and/or Hyperbaric Safety Director as is appropriate for the facility. Is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems.
+ Work Schedule:
+ Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays, sometimes in excess of 40 hours per week.
+ SKILLS & ABILITIES
+ Education
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
+ Experience
+ Preferred 2+ years working in the medical field as a CHT, EMT-B, Paramedic, or LPN, CNA, CMA
+ Computer Skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
+ Certificates & Licenses
+ Be certified and/or licensed in one of the following vocations: Respiratory Therapist, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, Medical Assistant, Military Corpsman or Diving Medical Technician.
+ Other Requirements
+ • Obtain Certified Hyperbaric Technologist certification through the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) within 1 year of hire • Successful completion of a 40-hour introductory hyperbaric medicine course within 1 year of hire (provided by facility) • Obtain one of the following: Advanced Cardiac Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months (90 days) of hire date and Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months (90 days) of hire date
This position requires constant use of hands and fingers, reaching outward, and reaching above shoulders, as well as frequent standing, walking, lifting and carrying 0-50 lbs and pushing and pulling 0–25 lbs.
