Job Summary and Qualifications

+ Under the general direction of the Controller, the Assistant Controller assists in all activities concerned with general accounting, accounts payable, projections, financial reporting and budgeting.

+ Provides timely and accurate financial reports to internal management.

+ Develops and implements appropriate controls to safeguard assets.

+ Ensures accounting practices and reporting are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate accounting policies (APGs).

+ Reviews and approves designated monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and (Sarbanes-Oxley) SOX requirements.

+ Reviews monthly financial information for accuracy and integrity.

+ Assists in preparation of annual budget, Medicare Cost Report and year-end work papers.

+ Supervises the Accounts Payable position.

+ Verifies proper guidance and training in corporate requirements and hospital policies.

+ Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the vendor/ customer as number one.

+ Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities in the department and with other service areas.

What you will need in this role

+ At least three years of relevant experience in accounting required

+ Experience in the healthcare field preferred

+ BS or BBA in Accounting required
