Position Summary:
The Human Resources Business Partner is a companywide HR generalist with a strong focus on HR programs, employee relations, best place to work initiatives and policy governance. A strategic partner to Operations as part of the HR team, this role delivers HR services including compensation and rewards guidance, workforce planning and development, HR operations and compliance, leader coaching, and culture and engagement. This role provides hands‑on support and counsel to leaders and employees across all Herbruck’s locations. The HR Business Partner leads investigations, drives consistent application of policies, partners on culture and engagement initiatives, and strengthens HR fundamentals (compliance, documentation, HRIS data integrity). This is a critical role in employee retention and engagement, leadership development, and creating a positive work environment that aligns with Herbruck’s company culture and values. Position Responsibilities: HR Leadership:
+ Serve as a key HR contact for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR-related matters, employment law, policies, and procedures.
+ Oversee employee performance management, including coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary actions.
+ Ensure compliance with all state and federal labor laws, as well as company policies.
+ Champion employee engagement initiatives and foster a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Employee Relations:
+ Lead and manage employee relations issues across all locations, including handling investigations, dispute resolution, and conflict mediation.
+ Interpret and apply policies and employment laws; ensure timely, well-documented actions
+ Develop strategies to address and resolve performance, disciplinary, and employee relations matters.
+ Collaborate with managers and supervisors to implement effective coaching, counseling, and solutions to employee relations challenges.
+ Use data from surveys, exit interviews, and stay interviews to analyze trends, identify root causes of employee turnover, and implement strategies for improving retention.
+ Drive initiatives that strengthen company culture and improve employee satisfaction, including leadership development, training, and employee engagement programs.
Training & Development:
+ Provide leadership in identifying training needs and developing programs to support employee growth and development.
+ Facilitate leadership training, workshops, and performance check-ins to build organizational capability.
Culture, Engagement & Organizational Effectiveness
+ Collaborate on company-wide strategic HR initiatives, such as leading company-wide employee engagement surveys, performance management improvements, career pathway development, and leadership development programs to improve the employee experience
Program & Policy Management :
+ Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and programs to ensure compliance and alignment with company goals.
+ Ensure HR fundamentals, including maintaining personnel records, compliance with legal requirements, customer audits, and the administration of policies and procedures, are executed consistently and effectively.
Compensation & Total Rewards Guidance
+ Advise leaders on pay decisions, job architecture, internal equity, and market competitiveness in partnership with the CHRO.
+ Support annual compensation and recognition processes (merit, adjustments, promotions, spot recognition, profit sharing, etc.)
Other Responsibilities :
+ Be flexible and adaptive to other duties as assigned, contributing to HR initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
+ 8+ years of HR Business Partner or related HR experience, including substantial employee relations responsibility in multi-site, operations environments (food/agriculture, manufacturing or distribution preferred).
+ Data-savvy with experience using HRIS such as ADP, and Microsoft tools such as Excel to analyze trends and inform decisions
+ Exceptional judgement, discretion and follow-through; comfortable advising leaders and employees at all levels.
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
+ Does not own or maintain routine contact with birds, pigs, cattle, sheep, goats or unprocessed eggs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work will be performed in a variety of locations, primarily in an office setting and may include processing facilities and occasionally poultry barns. Must be able to move about facilities and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. May travel occasionally.
