    WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

     

    You will work cross-functionally with Additive Engineers, Conceptors, Materials, and Maintenance teams to explore, develop, and deliver high-quality footwear prototypes in the Bowerman Footwear Lab (BFL). Additionally, you will collaborate with partners across Nike’s Global Footwear, Innovation, and Sports teams to create performance, lifestyle, and sample footwear models.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The Rapid Additive Manufacturing Lab is essential to creating innovative footwear concepts that influence product development and decision-making at NIKE. Our team leads efforts in prototyping new designs, advancing 3D printing techniques, testing materials, and producing unique products for NIKE’s most high-profile lines. We are seeking a Rapid Additive Manufacturing Specialist I to join the Bowerman Footwear Lab at NIKE’s World Headquarters. This role requires a flexible, self-motivated individual with an innovative mindset, strong collaboration skills, project management and technical confidence. A foundational understanding of 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing workflows is key.

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Additive Manufacturing Technology, Design, or related technical field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

    + 1+ years of relevant experience in 3D additive manufacturing or related industry

    + Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments and across multiple 3D printing platforms (SLS, FDM, Objet)

    + Proficiency in 3D software for additive manufacturing (Magics, GrabCAD); Rhino experience is a plus

    + Effective oral and written communication skills; basic project management capabilities

    + Experience in engineering or manufacturing within high-volume production environments focused on high-value products

    + Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous situations

    + Ability to drive collaboration and communication within complex, cross-functional teams

     

    WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

     

    As a Rapid Additive Manufacturing Specialist I, you will be an essential member of the Rapid Additive Manufacturing team. Critical to support the overall strategy of the Bowerman Footwear Lab. In this role, you will be relied upon to help to accelerate our current manufacturing processes, challenges, quality, and tools. This will include:

     

    + Assist with digital intake and print build preparation across each technology.

    + Operate lab equipment and readiness through cleaning, maintenance, and material preparation while compiling to safety protocols.

    + Assist with post-processing tasks across 3D printing technologies to ensure the timely delivery of parts.

    + Adapt to shifting priorities and provide accurate status updates.

    + Follow SOPs to gain hands-on experience and suggest improvements for efficiency, quality, and safety.

    + Build foundational knowledge of each 3D printing technology’s capabilities and constraints.

    + Support initiatives to improve product performance, resolve production challenges, and accelerate time-to-market through additive manufacturing.
