Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking a thoracic medical oncologist with strong leadership skills and ambition for advancing thoracic oncology care. The ideal candidate will play a key role in expanding our Thoracic Oncology program and will have the opportunity to partner closely with internationally recognized teams in Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonary Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Interventional Radiology, and Pathology.
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and innovate across the full spectrum of care for patients with thoracic malignancies. The successful applicant will be expected to:
+ Develop and lead clinical trials
+ Drive innovation in diagnostics and therapeutics
+ Recruit and mentor future faculty
+ Provide mentorship to early-career colleagues
+ Contribute to education by teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
+ Expand their research with support from Mayo Clinic’s resources
Our Thoracic Oncology team includes a comprehensive group of specialists: medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, interventional radiologists, pathologists, and radiologists. Together, we care for more than 1,000 newly diagnosed patients annually with lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thymic malignancies. Our team is committed to improving outcomes through rapid molecular testing, integrated multidisciplinary care, and a robust clinical trial program.

Cancer care is delivered collaboratively across our three campuses in Minnesota, Arizona, and Florida, giving the candidate access to the combined resources of the Mayo Clinic network. This includes over 200 oncologists and hematologists; CORE research facilities; a unified electronic medical record system; and over 2,000 faculty members involved in cancer care and research.

Board eligible or board certified in Medical Oncology. Eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota.

Compensation Detail
The minimum starting salary for Medical specialties may range from $202,000 to $663,037. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
