Job Title: A&P Mechanic

Job Description

Join our team in maintaining and repairing a fleet of CL-215 firefighting aircraft at our base hangar. With tools provided, you will use WinAir maintenance tracking software and consult repair manuals, blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings to select appropriate tools and repairs. Your role will involve performing repairs on engines, propellers, and other systems and components, ensuring the fleet is maintained while part of the team is engaged in firefighting contracts. As the fleet returns, you will commence winter heavy maintenance in preparation for the 2026 summer fire season, including C checks and engine changes.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain and repair CL-215 firefighting fleet aircraft.

+ Utilize WinAir maintenance tracking software and consult technical manuals for repairs.

+ Perform repairs on engines, propellers, and various aircraft systems.

+ Conduct winter heavy maintenance and prepare for the upcoming fire season.

+ Execute C checks, engine changes, and other maintenance tasks.

Essential Skills

+ 4+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.

+ Possession of an A&P License.

+ Proficient in repair and troubleshooting.

+ Experience with heavy maintenance, line maintenance, and MRO.

+ Familiarity with C checks and turboprop aircraft.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in maintenance of overwing turboprop aircraft (e.g., Dash-8/Q400, ATR's, CL-215/CL-415).

+ Valid driver's license.

+ Eligible for safety-sensitive hire.

+ Ownership of basic shadowed tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets & extensions, flashlight, pliers).

Work Environment

The position requires working six days a week, Monday through Saturday, for 10 hours a day, from November 10 or 17 to May 1, 2026. Shift times are from 0700 to 1730, including a 30-minute lunch break. Work will primarily be conducted inside heavy maintenance hangars and shop areas, with occasional outdoor tasks. Candidates must be prepared to commute through snow and freezing conditions, particularly in January and February, as the job is based in Montana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
