Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Seamless Care Models Group (SCMG). As a Social Science Research Analyst, GS-0101-14, you will provide technical expertise and guidance on Medicare Part B and D policy and payment issues; develop innovative and strategic prescription drug policy and operational processes to implement Medicare Part B and D drug models. Responsibilities Provides technical expertise, guidance, and support on Medicare Part B and D prescription drug models, Medicare Part D operational activities, and/or Medicare Part D economic analyses and studies. Provides expert guidance to Director, Deputy Director, and higher level management within SCMG and at the Group level, as directed on the advancement of technical, operational, budgetary, procurement and contracting processes, business requirements. Identify and analyze prescription drug coverage policy and payment trends to address challenges to beneficiaries accessing affordable prescription drugs related to Part B and Part D programs. Designs, implements, and maintains Medicare prescription drug model(s) and conducts economic impact analyses and other drug-related research projects to develop the most appropriate response to the problems of health care delivery and financing. Leads technical responses to correspondence and leadership inquiries concerning the impact of Medicare Part B and Part D drug model policies on the health care industry, program beneficiaries, and other stakeholders. In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Providing technical leadership in the design, implementation, or evaluation of value-based health care models in Medicare. 2) Supporting the drafting of regulation or provides quantitative analysis to support regulatory changes in prescription drug payment policy. 3) Identifying and analyzing prescription drug coverage policy and payment trends specific to implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act changes in Medicare that may impact current or CMMI mission goals. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
