    _This position exists to conduct on site screening of newly, currently, or reenrolling Minnesota Health Care Program (MHCP) providers. The role of the Screening Specialist is to travel throughout the state to conduct screening activity for moderate or high-risk providers to verify accuracy of information submitted to the Department of Human Services (DHS) and to review compliance with Federal and State requirements for enrollment eligibility. Screening activities are a key step in identifying and preventing program integrity concerns._

    Minimum Qualifications

    _**To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.**_

     

    Two (2) years of professional experience with compliance monitoring or provider enrollment regarding Minnesota health care programs.

    AND

    Experience must demonstrate the following:

    + _Make recommendations on provider enrollment status._

    + _Conduct research using multiple data sources._

    + _Document information obtained through interviews._

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Knowledge of:

    + _Minnesota Health Care Programs_

    + _Fee-for-service and Managed Care Organizations_

    + _Minnesota Medicaid Information System (MMIS)_

    + _SharePoint, specifically the Case Tracker system within SharePoint_

    + _Electronic Data Management System (EDMS/Navigator)_

    + _General understanding of the purpose and role of compliance, oversight, and regulation, specifically in government_

    + _Critical thinking and professional judgement in order to react and pivot actions on site in response to situations._

    + _Written skills to be able to document findings and recommendations in an accurate, clear and concise manner._

    + _Typing and computer skills to perform data entry, report generation, and electronic system navigation._

    + _Time management and organizational skills in order to use time and resources efficiently._

    + _Practice and implement safety measures and techniques while working in the field independently._

    + _Be able to handle multiple work projects at a time and logically plan and prioritize their work._

    + _Communication skills in order to clearly convey expectations and direction to providers._

    + Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.

    Additional Requirements

    _Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License with no disqualifying moving violations within the past two years._

     

    _Be able to navigate physical environments that may not be accessible._

     

    _Be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds intermittently._

    This position requires successful completion of the following:

    It is the policy of the Department of Human Services that the individual selected for this position successfully complete a background investigation prior to employment, including the following components:

    + Criminal background check

    + Reference check

    + Fingerprinting check (MNJIS/CJIS)

     

    Complete the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Security Awareness training within 3-business days from the start of employment; and successfully obtain/retain CJIS certification annually.
