    Younker 5 is a dynamic 22-bed Renal, Transplant, and Urology unit, proudly home to Central Iowa’s only transplant center. Our team specializes in complex medical-surgical care, offering nurses the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients undergoing life-changing procedures.

     

    As a Nursing Supervisor, you’ll lead a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. We emphasize safe discharge planning and strive for the best possible outcomes through innovation, compassion, and teamwork.

    Responsibilities

    The Unit supervisor: Provides leadership as part of unit management team. Coordinates unit management activities in conjunction with manager/director. Facilitates unit staff development in collaboration with manager/director. Carries out the day-to-day operation plan of the unit under the direction of the manager/director. Serves as a resource to other health team members on the assigned unit. Works collaboratively with other departments to facilitate cost effective health care. The patients to be served may include: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assumes patient care assignment based on unit needs.

    Qualifications Minimum Requirements

    + Associate’s degree in Nursing; must be willing to obtain a BSN within 3 years.

    + Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license.

    + Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.

    + Valid driver’s license for work-related travel.

    + Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse professional, educational, and lifestyle backgrounds.

    + Proficiency in basic computer skills.

    Other

    + Familiarity with and use of standard equipment required to perform essential job functions.

    Highly Preferred

    + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

    + Experience in a relevant specialty area.
