Title: Agency Driver
Classification: Part-Time; Benefits-eligible
Work Hours: 20 hrs/week; M-F 4pm – 8pm (occasional weekend hours)
Pay Rate: $15.50/hr
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the IDD Director, this position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of consumers registered in agency programs.
Essential Job Duties
+ Serve as a driver for the agencies, which includes, but is not limited to pick-ups, deliveries, transportation of clients, and other designated errands.
+ Conduct transportation duties safely with full compliance to NYS traffic regulations and with specific emphasis on seat belt regulations and no standing in the aisle.
+ Responsible for maintenance of agency vehicle(s) by regularly checking tires, battery, oil fluid levels, service check-ups, alignments, brakes, etc.
+ Responsible for the upkeep of the vehicle’s interior and exterior.
+ Pick up and drop off consumers at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules.
+ Read maps and/or GPS and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
+ Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
+ Notify supervisors of any accidents or incidents, and responsible for reporting any perceived defects and/or mechanical problems to the IDD Director immediately.

+ Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
+ Familiarity with the city of Rochester geographical and street locations.
+ Demonstrated ability to relate and interact with staff and consumers of diverse cultural, racial, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
+ Must be willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

+ The employee is frequently required to walk distances; use hands and fingers to handle, or operate computers, objects, tools, or controls; and reach.
+ Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 65 pounds of force occasionally.
+ Must be able to travel as needed; frequently getting in/out of vehicle and be able to handle various driving weather conditions.
+ Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time; including close vision and ability to adjust/focus various distances.
+ Work is both indoors and outdoors and may have exposure to various weather conditions.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent, required.
+ Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
+ Certification in CPR/First Aid is highly desired.
