Summary:
The Data Engineer Sr. is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from a wide variety of data sources. This role involvesdeveloping and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data flow and availability for data analytics andbusiness intelligence activities.
The Data Engineer collaborates with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and deliver efficient solutions that support complex analytics and reporting. Keyresponsibilities include designing and implementing scalable data architectures, managing dataintegration, and ensuring data quality and reliability. Proficiency in programming languages, databasesystems, big data technologies, and cloud platforms is essential for this role, as is a strong understandingof data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of highly scalable and securedata pipelines for complex data processing needs.
+ Provide strategic leadership and direction to a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborativeand high-performing environment.
+ Champion technical innovation, identifying and implementing cutting-edge technologies and solutions to drive data strategy and improve overall data architecture.
+ Develop and maintain data architecture best practices, ensuring data quality, security, andscalability at an enterprise level.
+ Collaborate with Data Product Managers, analysts, business analysts, product managers, seniorleadership, engineering managers, TPMs, and architects to understand business needs, translate theminto technical solutions, and influence product planning and prioritization.
+ Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Develop and maintain technical documentation and code standards.
+ Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new data technologies and tools.
+ Continuously monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements tooptimize data pipelines across the enterprise.
+ Manage and reduce technical debt through strategic recommendations and code refactoringinitiatives.
+ Drive the adoption of new technologies across the organization, ensuring successful integrationand maximizing business value.
+ Adheres to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Human Resources Policy Guideand follows departmental and functional area standards, rules, guidelines, processes, and policies as identified by management.
Experience and Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 8 -10 years of professional experience in relevantprogramming languages.
+ 8 - 10 years of professional experience in relevant programming languages.
**Pay Philosophy** : The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $140,000 - $171,000
