    Job Title: Hardware Engineer (Mixed Signals)

    Job Description

    We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong experience in mixed signal electronic design to join our engineering team in developing cutting-edge systems for the defense sector. This role requires deep technical expertise in analog and digital circuit design, systems integration, and a passion for delivering mission-critical hardware solutions in a fast-paced, high-security environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, develop, and validate mixed signal circuits, including analog front ends, ADC/DAC interfaces, power management, and digital logic.

    + Lead circuit and system-level design reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.

    + Perform simulation, analysis, and verification using tools such as AWR, SPICE, MATLAB, and other industry-standard EDA software, including performing RF chain analysis.

    + Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless product integration.

    + Generate detailed design documentation including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and design justifications for compliance and audits.

    + Support prototype development, bring-up, and hardware debugging in lab environments.

    + Ensure designs meet defense standards for EMI/EMC, thermal, and reliability performance.

    + Participate in proposal writing, technical planning, and customer presentations.

    Essential Skills

    + Mixed signal design and PCB design expertise.

    + Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium and Mentor Graphics.

    + Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed digital design principles.

    + Experience with defense-grade components and environmental qualification (MIL-STD-810).

    + Familiarity with DoD standards, export control (ITAR/EAR), and secure hardware design practices.

    + Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills.

    + Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.

    + US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

    + 15+ years of experience in mixed signal electronic design, preferably in defense, aerospace, or similar regulated industries.

    + Knowledge of FPGA/SoC interfaces, embedded systems, or firmware development is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is centered around providing solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams in a high-security setting, adhering to defense standards and regulations. The use of industry-standard EDA software and lab equipment is integral to the job. The position may require adherence to specific export control regulations and standards.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frederick, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $96.15/hr.
