Role Overview:
The Systems Administrator Associate, Web and Application Support Services Team, focuses on specific technologies that help protect and defend the State's valuable data assets and applications. You will assist with SSL certificate management, configuring websites, schedule software installations, and monitor technical issues and system alerts.
We are seeking a candidate with four years of experience in these areas:
+ SSL certificate automation and management.
+ Server administration.
+ Internal/external DNS management.
+ Web application firewalls.
+ BOT management.
+ Proxy management.
+ Load balancing (F5 BIGIP, Netscaler).
+ Secrets management.
+ Endpoint privilege management.
+ Device discovery.
+ Application dependency mapping.
This is an onsite role working in an office environment and requires being in an on-call rotation.
Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $61,022 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:
Responsibilities include:
+ Work with technologies such as Cloudflare, DNS and certificates, Big-IP (F5, XC Cloud), Secret Server, Privilege Manager (EPM) solutions, Device42, and other similar technologies.
+ Configuring websites in a F5/load balancer environment including the commissioning and decommissioning of websites, virtual servers, certificate management, SSL profile management, irules, content switching, geo-blocking, website logging, network firewall, security policies, and IP whitelisting.
+ SSL certificate management, CSR creation, renewal, revocation, and application to F5/load balancing devices and associated backend servers utilizing automation, and manual processes.
+ Configuration of internal and external DNS entries on local DNS servers and in Cloudflare portal.
+ Evaluation & implementation of WAF managed rules, OWASP, and BOT policies, research of false positives. Implementation of exceptions when validated.
+ Test, debug, and document system software upgrades and new releases also may include some program design and coding.
+ Schedule software installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
+ Monitor and respond to technical issues and system alerts.
+ Assist customers with troubleshooting issues.
+ Assist in the research and planning of information technology products, services, and resources to meet the agency mission, goals, and objectives.
+ Develop and publish information technology knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other job aids.
+ Assist on customer projects and complete assigned work within established deadlines and SLAs.
+ Conduct routine hardware and software audits of relevant appliances and software packages to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuring guidelines.
+ Navigating ticketing system for dealing with incident management, requests, tasks, and scheduling operational efforts.
+ Participate in production change management and control schedules.
+ Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours production support.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
Credentials:
+ Associates degree in computer technology, or
+ 4 years of information technology experience.
+ Knowledge of SSL certificates and certificate automation a plus.
+ Knowledge of scripting, PowerShell, APIs a plus.
+ Familiarity with working tickets, tasks, and requests from within Service Now is a plus.
Additional qualifications:
+ Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative team environment.
+ Ability to multitask, meet project deadlines, manage workflow, prioritize requests, and provide competent and timely customer service.
+ Considerable knowledge of IT policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.
+ Sufficient knowledge in information technology equipment, operation, and capabilities.
+ Knowledge in the use of admin tools and utilities to perform the system work.
+ Knowledge in performance and tuning techniques.
+ Ability to assist others in problem resolution and recommendations regarding system software performance and abilities.
+ Knowledge in the business objectives and goals to evaluate the software products’ effectiveness.
+ Proficiency in using office software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and more, preferably using the Microsoft Office suite of tools and programs.
+ Knowledge of DNS and Active Directory.
+ Ability to evaluate and solve technical issues effectively and efficiently.
+ Ability to clearly communicate complex information to technical and non-technical staff.
