Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team in Santa Barbara, California. This role involves supporting daily financial operations, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, and assisting with special projects as needed. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a collaborative attitude, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Process cash receipts, including accurate fund coding and batching.

• Monitor daily bank account activity and provide wire specifications for donor-related gift entries.

• Input accounts payable invoices into financial systems for timely processing.

• Prepare journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Update fee schedules and allocation pools for specific funds.

• Generate monthly reports such as budget-to-actual operating expenses and fund-specific analyses.

• Reconcile gift and grant records across multiple databases on a monthly basis.

• Act as a backup for processing accounts payable and grant disbursements.

• Support donor relations by assisting with gift recording and preparing quarterly fund statements.

• Assist in maintaining records and reports for external grants and special projects. Requirements • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage financial processes effectively.

• Ability to collaborate seamlessly with team members and other departments.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

• Previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping is required.

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance is preferred.

• Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge, and NPact Foundation Cloud is a plus.

• Comfortable working in a general office environment and telecommuting with reliable internet.

• Ability to perform tasks involving frequent sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of light loads (up to 10 lbs.).
