Description

A trusted healthcare organization in Escondido is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support their accounting department. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow in the healthcare industry while working for an organization that values compassion, integrity, and excellence in patient care. The Junior Accountant will assist with daily accounting operations, reconciliations, and reporting, contributing to the financial health and transparency of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Support daily accounting functions including data entry, journal postings, and account reconciliations.

+ Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

+ Reconcile bank and credit card statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

+ Prepare and maintain detailed schedules for fixed assets and prepaid expenses.

+ Assist in payroll journal entry preparation and benefit accruals.

+ Generate financial reports using Excel and Sage Intacct for management review.

+ Coordinate with department heads to ensure financial accuracy across departments.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally within healthcare or nonprofit sectors.

+ Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting principles.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.

+ Familiarity with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.

+ Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

+ Knowledge of healthcare financial management or nonprofit accounting is a plus.
