    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining strategic communications that elevate the company’s brand, engage employees, and support business objectives. This position exists to advance the company’s image through internal and external marketing communications that drive the financial growth goals of ICW Group. This role supports both internal and external communications, partnering closely with stakeholders across product lines, and shared services to ensure consistent, effective messaging across all channels. The role is for a skilled writer, strategic thinker, and collaborative team player with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Develop internal company communications and drive employee engagement.

     

    + Initiate internal communications strategies to promote company programs and events.

    + Partner with key stakeholders and leaders to craft compelling communications campaigns across a variety of channels that inform, motivate, and engage employees.

    + Develop communications that help reinforce ICW Group’s culture and support business objectives.

    + Help produce company-wide meetings, including content development and delivery.

    + Create and edit company intranet content, including news and announcements.

    + Develop and implement project plans within the department and is accountable for managing ongoing projects.

    + Measure and report on the effectiveness of internal communications and engagement programs.

    + Support projects to enhance communication technology and intranet solutions.

    + Ensure all communications adhere to company style guides and maintain consistency of brand voice and tone.

    + Promote the adoption and use of AI tools to create content and efficiencies.

     

    Craft strategic communications directed at policyholders, agents, and other external audiences.

     

    + Partner with internal stakeholders across products and lines of business on marketing campaign strategies.

    + Contribute to the development of marketing materials across multiple channels, including print, digital, social media, email, and web, ensuring clear, consistent, and engaging communications that support brand and business goals.

    + Work with marketing team to implement go-to-market communications plans for new product offerings and support campaigns for existing products and services.

    + Collaborate with internal video production crew to develop story boards, draft scripts, coach featured Team Members and customers and coordinate film production.

    + Collaborate with the internal graphics team on message development and design.

     

    Help develop and implement public relations campaigns.

     

    + Work with lead public relations manager to implement integrated PR communication plans to publicize ICW Group’s products, services, and executive thought leadership.

    + Build and maintain relationships with key business and insurance trade press.

    + Coordinate media inquiries, inclusive of positioning and messaging.

    + Draft press releases, pursue awards opportunities and monitor editorial calendars as a part of the Company’s public relations program.

     

    Support ICW Group’s social media platforms and campaign development.

     

    + Manage the Company’s social media accounts, ensuring regular activity and online presence.

    + Solicit, draft, and manage content for use on all approved social media accounts to promote Company initiatives and campaigns while strengthening customer engagement.

    + Collaborate with internal departments on social media campaigns and content ideas as needed.

    + May attend Company events to capture photos, video and stories to share on social platforms.

    + Manage social listening to continuously monitor and track Company presence, identify influencers, keep track of competitors, monitor media coverage and alert Executive Management Committee if sentiment attached to Company becomes noticeably negative or positive and respond accordingly.

    + Track, benchmark, and analyze social media KPIs; provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This role does not have direct reports but may mentor and/or train junior team members as needed.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    + Bachelor's degree required in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    + Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing or communications required.

    + Demonstrated experience running high-profile projects with rigorous deadlines required.

    + Experience with the development of communication campaigns.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    None required.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    + Working knowledge of internal communications and ideally also business-to-business (B2B) communications, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.

    + Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and other Office programs.

    + Creative ability with excellent attention to detail. Strong writing, editing, and content development skills required.

    + Ability to brainstorm with and without others to create content from minimal direction.

    + Ability to apply principles of market trends and logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical projects.

    + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer requirements, marketing reports, technical performance reports, and other marketing and public relations-related documents.

    + Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively.

    + Strong project management, written and verbal communication skills.

    + Experience with graphic design and video editing tools a plus.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Office environment – no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands and employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of a computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.

    The current range for this position is

     

    $78,678.61 - $132,686.15

     

    This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
