Mechanical Engineer – Electronic Packaging (Onsite – Virginia Beach, VA)
Overview:
Join a dynamic engineering team where innovation meets creativity. We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in electronic packaging and an eye for industrial and artistic design principles to help shape cutting-edge RF and digital systems. This role spans the full product lifecycle—from concept and design to integration and production—offering the opportunity to solve complex challenges and influence designs that balance performance, aesthetics, and user experience.
What You’ll Do:
+ Lead the mechanical design of RF/digital systems, including 3D modeling, layout, and detailed drawings.
+ Apply industrial design principles to enhance product ergonomics, visual appeal, and manufacturability.
+ Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses to ensure design integrity in demanding environments.
+ Develop and maintain test fixtures, manufacturing plans, and design verification procedures.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to merge engineering precision with creative design, delivering high-quality, reliable products.
+ Interface with suppliers and generate requisitions to support engineering activities.
+ Participate in design reviews, technical interchanges, and root cause investigations.
+ Support bids and proposals to help win new business.
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications:
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering + 3 years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in 3D CAD (CREO preferred) for solid modeling and 2D drawings.
+ Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
+ Experience with mechanical design for electronic systems, including tolerance analysis and MIL-STD compliance.
+ U.S. Citizenship with background suitable to obtain a Security Clearance.
+ Willingness to work onsite in Virginia Beach, VA and travel occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with Windchill PLM, SolidWorks, and multi-CAD environments.
+ Familiarity with industrial design principles and ability to influence product aesthetics and ergonomics.
+ Knowledge of thermal management, and ruggedized design for military/commercial use.
+ Understanding of MIL-STD-810 and electronics-mechanical integration.
+ Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
