With the increased demand of creating potent ferments for ELC and support all our brands that will result in optimization of our ferments and increase of performance for new or existing ferments. With this role, the individual is to serve as the subject matter expert in Analytical Chemistry for the Fermentation Organization and collaborate with the other scientists in the group.

The role requires independently leading efforts on acquisition of data, data analysis and to develop and execute on SOPs for analytical instrumentation for acquisition of metabolomics data to feed our growing innovation pipeline. The role allows for coordination of existing resources and skilled researchers through building internal and external connections across the research organization and the appropriate subfunctions. Leads the technical project, ensuring it meets the projects' needs and deadlines.

+ Lead and do the analytical chemistry work on ferments to support the fermentation group in order to create new and optimized ferments for delivery of potent biological activities, that will help to fuel our brands. Continuously Engage in Analytical Chemistry Data acquisition and interrogation method development and reporting ⁃ Developing Computational Biology SOPs, scripts, and interrogating existing and newly generated metadata. (60%)

+ Connects with appropriate subfunction to report results and define next steps (25%)

+ Driving Buy⁃in, informal leadership and coordination of internal and/or external collaborators across multiple teams, talent planning, planning for departments future computational needs. (15%)

Qualifications

+ Analytical Chemist, Biochemist, or Organic Chemist PhD (MS with 2 Years of experience in industrial R&D).

+ Experience in operating and maintaining LC/MS QTOF or similar mass spectrometry, imaging mass spectrometry, for detection quantification and identification of fermentation metabolites.

+ Experience with metabolomics and developing metabolomic pipelines.

+ Expert in developing analytical biochemistry methods and assays as evidence by peer reviewed papers.

+ Highly experienced with principles of biological data science and quantitative analysis including high throughput screening and pipeline development.

+ Demonstrated research products to mine large data sets and repositories.

+ Broadly knowledgeable across multiple domains of Omics including metabolomics, proteomics, and genomics including experimental design, sample preparation.

+ Experience with functional genomics of microorganisms is a plus.

+ Proficient in at least one scientific coding language and one big data query language.

+ Experienced in HPC.

+ Excellent scientific communication skills (Written and Visual).

+ Experience with GCP and GMP is a plus.

+ Experience with Image data is a plus.
