Job Description
The Chassis Control Product Division develops innovative solutions for active driving safety. As a leading supplier in the automotive industry, Robert Bosch LLC has made its Farmington Hills and Plymouth Michigan facilities the headquarters for its North American automotive businesses. These facilities house more than 1,700 associates who are dedicated to developing advanced safety systems, improving relationships with our customers, and furthering Bosch's technologies.
Within Chassis Controls, we are responsible for the "in-vehicle" calibration/testing of the Electronic Stability Control device (ABS/TCS/ESP/ESC/ACC/ADAS) and the Electronic Brake Booster (Vacuum free brake boost and ADAS) which both manage vehicle movement and motion during safety critical situations as well as highly automated driving. We work side by side with Function and Performance Developers within the USA and globally across many Bosch/Customer locations. We are in regular contact with our customers and actively work with them in their prototype vehicles to develop, refine, and validate their systems and requirements at test facilities around the world.
In the end, our department delivers the calibration, software, and technical project leadership to achieve our customer targets. We deliver on our commitment to the customer and support their vision for the future of mobility. Technical Project Manager (TPM) is a key role for the successful execution of our Brake Controls projects. The position offers a large variety of technical and managerial aspects. The TPM is responsible for leading a cross-functional team to release an electronic brake control module for series production. They are the technical lead for the project, main customer interface, are expected to have knowledge of all technical areas of focus and driving these to production. They will be expected to own the project from acquisition through start of production and beyond.
+ Lead cross-functional team comprised of software and hardware (mechanical and electrical) component managers, software function developers and calibration engineers
+ Define and track work packages
+ Responsible for requirements management and evaluation of customer specifications
+ First point of contact for the OEM on all technical topics related to the project
+ Align and negotiate scope and timing with the customer
+ Ensure system and software development, validation, and delivery are according to guidelines and processes (e.g., ISO26262, ASPICE).
+ Lead weekly meetings with the customer and internal project teams
+ Report project status to US senior management monthly
+ Maintain all project records and documentation
+ Coordinate Design Change Requests from the OEM
+ Prepare and communicate technical presentations for the customer
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ME, EE, or related)
+ 4 or more years of experience in technical project management, project lead, or project management
+ 4 or more years of experience in automotive, motorsport or heavy equipment industry
+ 2 or more years of vehicle networking, diagnostics and debugging complex systems and/or hands-on (mechanical or electrical) experience
+ 2 or more years of experience with vehicle and/or system test and release procedures in automotive, or related industry
+ Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with vehicle and system test and release procedures in automotive, or related industry
+ Good understanding of vehicle architecture and chassis control interfaces
+ Capable to understand embedded control software and communicate software changes
+ Experience in systems / requirements engineering
+ Ability to structure, moderate and promote collaboration with international teams, negotiate with customer
+ Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and braking systems
+ Experience with Calibration (vehicle testing) of ESP or related braking systems
+ Strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and innovative thinking
+ Strong leadership skills and highly self-motivated
+ Good written / verbal communication and presentation skills
+ Capable of working independently in an organized and structured fashion
+ Safe vehicle driving and good vehicle handling skills
+ Comfortable with testing activities in vehicles
