• Cyber Operations Manager

    **MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Cyber Operations Manager** to join our team in **Fayetteville, NC** .

     

    In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by modernizing the IT environment, integrating advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) for data analytics, and providing enterprise persistent services like chat, video, and data mapping through various engineering and cybersecurity initiatives.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Planning, directing, or coordinating activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.

    + Directing the daily activities of the Cyber Operations Team, including incident response, vulnerability management, and threat hunting.

    + Ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, DoD 8500-series) and advising senior leadership on evolving threat landscapes

    + Collaborating with system owners, mission stakeholders, and other IT teams to ensure proper security controls are in place across infrastructure

    + Managing personnel, resources, and the operational tempo of the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure the effective execution of Cybersecurity requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + A Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field with a minimum of 9+ years position specific, relevant experience

    + 4+ years of position-specific relevant experience managing cybersecurity teams or a Security Operations Center (SOC).

    + Proven ability to manage cyber programs in DoD, IC, or similarly complex environments

    + Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)

    + Strong working knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53 controls, and applicable security compliance mandates

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.

    + Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

    + Experience managing a 24x7 SOC or cyber defense operations.

    + ITIL, CISM, or GIAC certifications (e.g., GCIA, GCIH)

    + Experience managing geographically distributed teams or hybrid operations environments

    + Familiarity with cloud security practices and hybrid on-prem/cloud architectures

    Clearance Requirements:

    + Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

    Physical Requirements:

    + The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
