About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist p erforms tests and examinations in the field of Nuclear Medicine. As a Nuclear Medicine Technolist, you will obtain data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients as well as accurately recording results of testing. You will follow hospital and Nuclear Medicine policies and guidelines of the New York State Department of Health.
What You’ll Do
+ Administers diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals according to hospital policies & procedures and NYS Department of Health regulations. Reconstitutes and prepares radiopharmaceuticals for patient injection according to protocol and based on patient’s age specific needs.
+ Implements radiation safety procedures and techniques based on radiation safety theory, hospital policies & procedures and NYS Department of Health regulations.
+ Maintains and operates a variety of nuclear medicine equipment and computers to obtain images and patient data. Verifies the creditability of this data before physician interpretation.
+ Reviews patient history and requisitions for pertinent information and adjust diagnostic dosing and imaging protocols accordingly (i.e. body habitus, age specific needs). Explains procedures and process to patients, addresses age specific needs.
+ Provides physicians with pertinent patient information to assist in the interpretation of Nuclear Medicine images.
+ Assists radiologist in the administration of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
+ Completes appropriate radiation and equipment QA surveys at the required time intervals (i.e. area surveys, wipe surveys, floods, resolutions, constancy, channel checks, linearity, RAM receipt and disposal, etc.).
+ Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
+ Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
+ Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
+ Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
+ Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community
What You Bring
+ Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine required. Bachelors degree preferred.
+ Currently licensed by the State of New York as a Radiologic Technologist / Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Certification or registration by ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB required, BLS certification required.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills
