    Caregiver Job Duties

     

    Personal Care Assistance

     

    Help clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

     

    Support clients with mobility, transfers, and exercises as needed.

     

    Encourage clients to participate in their own personal care whenever possible.

     

    Meal Preparation & Nutrition

     

    Plan and prepare balanced meals based on dietary needs and preferences.

     

    Encourage proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.

     

    Assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring safety and dignity.

     

    Household Support

     

    Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, dishwashing, and tidying living spaces.

     

    Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized home environment.

     

    Support clients with basic household organization and chores.

     

    Medication Assistance

     

    Assist clients in taking prescribed medications as directed by care plans and physician orders.

     

    Document medication administration accurately according to company policy.

     

    Report any side effects, missed doses, or medication concerns to the supervisor.

     

    Community Involvement & Transportation

     

    Safely transport clients to and from appointments, social events, and community activities.

     

    Encourage participation in outings that promote socialization and independence.

     

    Foster community engagement and help clients build relationships and connections.

     

    Documentation & Communication

     

    Maintain accurate, timely records of care provided, including daily logs, activities, and observations.

     

    Report any changes in health, mood, or behavior promptly to the supervisor.

     

    Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and family members as needed.

     

    Emotional & Social Support

     

    Provide companionship, empathy, and encouragement to promote emotional well-being.

     

    Engage clients in conversation, games, and activities that enrich their lives.

     

    Promote self-esteem, dignity, and personal growth through positive interactions.

     

    Safety & Emergency Response

     

    Follow all safety and emergency procedures according to company policy.

     

    Maintain awareness of potential hazards and address them promptly.

     

    Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations and report incidents immediately.

    Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards for all clients.

     

    Maintain professionalism, respect, and compassion in all interactions.

    Other Duties as Assigned

     

    Participate in required training sessions and professional development.

     

    Assist team members when needed to ensure continuity of care.

     

    Adapt to client needs and care plan updates as directed by supervisors.

     

    ### Minimum Education Required

    High school diploma/GED

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    At least one year of experience as a caregiver/PCA . Experience with de-escalation, person-centered care, and mental health diagnosis.
