    We’re looking for anAccountant Manager 1 to join ourOffice of Management and Finance, Financial Services Division to participate in the development, implementation, and enhancement of the internal accounting systems, reconciliation of the statewide accounting system with other revenue accounting systems, revenue reporting and analysis, management of agency and escrow fund subsidiary ledgers, and the development of various components of the annual financial statements for major state revenues, escrow, and agency accounts.

     

    This is a promotional posting open only to current permanent classified employees of the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

     

    Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

     

    A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

    A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

     

    An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

     

    Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    In this role, you will:

    + Administer the operation of the expenditures procedures.

    + Directs the development and management of over $100 million agency expenditures for the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

    + Coordinates with the appointed officials and division directors to compile the necessary information for expenditures development.

    + Reviews all expenditures and requests and recommends payment to executive management.

    + Oversee the Travel and LaCarte card program administrators to ensure compliance with state and agency guidelines.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: This is a promotion for current LDR employees.

     

    Career Progression: This position will be filled as an Accountant Manager 1.

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Special Entrance Rates (SER) have been established for this position. See below:

     

    + The Accountant Manager 1 (AS-620) has a starting rate of: $30.43/hourly; $2,434.40 biweekly.
