Job Summary: The Printer Operator and Graphic Technician is responsible for running and maintaining specialized digital printers to produce high-quality printed materials. This role operates printing equipment, ensures print accuracy and performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Minimum Education: Associate's Degree, vocational or technical school in Graphic Design, preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: Minimum 1 year.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with digital printing equipment and software. Strong attention to detail to ensure print quality and accuracy. Strong understanding of mechanical systems to perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Knowledge of different printing techniques, materials, and finishing processes. Understanding of safety and quality control procedures in a printing environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Ability to operate and troubleshoot Ultraviolet printing systems, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to production timelines. Ability to utilize CorelDraw and VersaWorks for efficient graphic design and production processes. Strong attention to detail to ensure print quality and accuracy, along with the ability to manage print jobs and production records.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Sets up and operates high-speed digital printing equipment to produce a wide range of materials, such as brochures, posters, and personalized items. Works with customer files using various applications, ensuring accuracy and adjusting settings for the correct print job. Monitors the printing process to ensure high-quality output and adherence to customer specifications and deadlines. Performs routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Maintains accurate records of production, including job counts and material usage. Works with design teams, project managers, and other colleagues to meet project specifications. Performs tasks such as collating, assembling, and binding documents after printing.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships: Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
