    Purpose of Position

     

    Drive Continuous Improvement through Lean Leadership at Veeder-Root. Lead the strategic deployment and execution of the Vontier Business System (VBS) our framework for continuous improvement—across Veeder-Root.

     

    This role is centered on embedding lean manufacturing principles and fostering a culture of operational excellence throughout our manufacturing and transactional processes. By leveraging lean methodologies and leading Kaizen-driven improvements, you will enhance manufacturing operations and drive sustained progress across a wide range of processes.

     

    Your leadership will be key in cultivating a culture where continuous improvement is embraced at every level—empowering associates to take initiative, solve problems collaboratively, and integrate VBS into their everyday work. This cultural transformation will fuel innovation, strengthen accountability, and position Veeder-Root for long-term success.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Facilitate Kaizen Events: Lead engaging Kaizen events to empower & develop associates utilizing Vontier Business System (VBS) tools.

    • Support Strategic Planning: Collaborate and coach on the development and execution of organizational Strategic and Policy Deployment Plans, ensuring effective implementation at all levels using appropriate VBS tools to meet our goals.

    • Manage Kaizen Funnel: Be the driving force for Kaizen opportunities through Strategic and Policy Deployment, ensuring the organization effectively utilizes Kaizen methodologies to achieve its strategic objectives with measurable business results.

    • Prepare for Kaizen Events: Organize and facilitate preparation meetings with leadership and Kaizen leaders to ensure alignment and readiness for successful Kaizen events.

    • Challenge the Status Quo: Challenge the organizational leadership to promote continuous improvement, never accepting the status quo and always seeking process- focused improvements.

    • Elevate Leadership through Expert Training and Coaching: Provide 1 on 1 training sessions that equip leadership & Associate VBS Leaders with a deep understanding of VBS tools and lean principles. Position yourself as an expert to significantly enhance the leadership team's impact on the organization and foster a robust culture of continuous improvement through the SME/Champion Program.

    • Assess P&L for Kaizen Opportunities: Conduct a thorough analysis of Profit and Loss statements with key leaders to identify potential opportunities for the Kaizen funnel, driving targeted improvements that enhance financial performance.

    • Establish Accountability: Create a culture of accountability to sustain operating principles and performance results, leveraging VBS tools to eliminate waste and improve processes.

    • Collaborate with VBS Corporate Office: Maintain relationships with the VBS Corporate Office, keeping Veeder-Root updated on documentation, tool enhancements, and VBS activities.

    • Onboard New Hires: Develop tailored onboarding plans for new hires in Operations, focusing on building a strong foundation in VBS and cultivating future VBS Champions.

    • Seek Improvement Opportunities: Continuously identify and explore new opportunities for process enhancement and people development, driving innovation and excellence throughout the organization.

    • Other: Perform other duties as assigned.

    Background and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a commensurate level of manufacturing related experience required.

    • Industrial Engineering Degree preferred.

    • Superior communication (written and verbal), meeting facilitation, and presentation skills required.

    • Experience in effectively driving change required.

    • Training assessment, development, delivery, and evaluation experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of and experience in the Toyota Production System, Vontier Business System or other Continuous Improvement System preferred.

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.
