Job Description
A leading medical technology company is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of patient-facing mobile applications that connect users to life-changing medical devices. In this role, you’ll architect and build complex Android solutions using Kotlin, Java, and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM)—driving feature development across Bluetooth device connectivity, cloud data workflows, and real-time health management tools. You’ll take full ownership of technical direction, guiding system design, architecture, and performance optimization across a large-scale Android codebase. As a true staff-level engineer, you’ll mentor and develop junior engineers, review code, and influence best practices to ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile solutions. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep Android expertise, thrives in complex environments, and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality, consumer-grade apps.

Skills and Requirements
• 7+ years of professional Android development experience; 12–15 years total software engineering experience preferred.
• 3+ years operating at a Staff or Tech Lead level, including mentoring engineers and leading design and architectural decisions.
• Proven success building and supporting large-scale consumer mobile apps (500K+ users).
• Deep expertise in Kotlin coroutines (most important), Compose, Jetpack, Navigation Graph, and Data Binding.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, core routine debugging, and Android performance optimization.
• Proficiency with RxJava, Kotlin, Java, and RESTful API integration.
• Hands-on experience with Bluetooth, AWS, and cloud-connected environments (e.g., S3, XML, JSON).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. • Experience working within regulated or healthcare product environments (FDA, HIPAA, FCC).
• Familiarity with cross-platform development (Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, React Native).
