Job Description

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining enterprise-wide data governance practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and trust in organizational data. This role involves creating and managing business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data maps, while implementing tools like Microsoft Purview for cataloging, lineage tracking, and discovery. The analyst collaborates with business, technical, and security teams to define stewardship roles, enforce governance policies, and monitor data quality through metrics and remediation efforts. They ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, and provide reporting on governance activities and data quality improvements. Ideal candidates bring expertise in data governance frameworks, cataloging tools, privacy regulations, and have strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Skills and Requirements

• 3 years related experience in data governance, data management, data stewardship, or related roles.

• Experience Designing, documenting, and updating data dictionaries and data maps for critical enterprise datasets to support data understanding and trust.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally

• Proven ability to collaborate with business, technical, and security teams to establish data stewardship roles, ownership, and accountability.

• Experience conducting data quality assessments, establish metrics, and help remediate issues in collaboration with engineering and analytics teams. • Has come from a Greenfield environment at an Enterprise level company.

• Strong implementation and configuration experience in Microsoft Purview.

• Strong interpersonal skills, experience leading and working cross functionally internally.
