    Job Description

    An employer is looking for a Data Engineer to build out Snowflake tables that meet the reporting and data management needs for their Finance team. This role will focus on curating and processing new transaction data in Snowflake to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and aligned with business requirements. This role will be integral in enabling the Finance team to leverage the Salesforce data for financial reporting and operations.

    Responsibilities:

    •Snowflake data management:

     

    o Design, implement, and optimize snowflake tables and pipelines for financial reporting and analysis

     

    o Transform new salesforce instance data into snowflake to align with existing finance data structures and ensure compatibility across systems

    o Utilize Snowflake’s advanced features and utilities, such as time travel, data sharing, and task management

    •ETL Development and Data Quality:

     

    o Develop, enhance, and maintain ETL workflows using tools like Snowflake, dbt, Matillion, Informatica, or similar

     

    o Conduct rigorous testing to ensure that ETL pipelines and data transformation are accurate, complete, and optimized for performance

     

    o Monitor and validate data pipelines for quality, completeness, and consistency

     

    o Validate that the migrated applications meet functional and non-functional requirements, including speed, scalability, and reliability

     

    •Cross-functional collaboration:

     

    o Partner with corporate finance and engineering teams to gather requirements and incorporate them into Snowflake data models

     

    o Collaborate with stakeholders to curate and enrich high-quality datasets that meet the reporting and analysis needs for the finance team

     

    •Documentation and knowledge sharing:

     

    o Document workflows, data structures, and protocols to ensure seamless project handover upon contract completion.

     

    o Communicate and resolve technical issues or data discrepancies in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

    Skills and Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience as data engineer with snowflake data modeling, transformation, and curation

    • Snowflake sql – write and optimize complex queries for transformation and validation

    • Familiarity with Salesforce data structures (e.g., objects, fields, records) as they relate to downstream data pipelines.

    • Hands-on experience in designing, building, and managing robust ETL workflows using tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Matillion, Informatica, or similar technologies.

    • Finance specific data – revenue tracking, order processing, and financial reconciliations

    • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, best practices, and schema design.

    • Demonstrated ability to validate and monitor data pipelines for completeness and data quality.

    • Experience in translating complex business requirements, especially for Finance teams, into well-structured technical solutions.

    • Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability across data workflows. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and hands-on experience with Git for version control, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment workflows.

    • Knowledge of Snowflake’s advanced features and utilities, such as time travel, data sharing, and task management
