    JOB SUMMARY

    Focuses on understanding and navigating a variety of data models across engineering and other departments. Works closely with subject matter experts to integrate datasets and identify meaningful relationships across the organization. Operates as the data subject matter expert for the enterprise asset management system, supporting data-driven decision-making and enhancing operational insights through advanced analytics.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Analyzes and interprets complex datasets from engineering and other departments to uncover relationships and support data-driven decision-making.

    + Collaborates with subject matter experts across the organization to understand existing data models and identify opportunities for integration and enhancement.

    + Develops and maintains data pipelines and integration frameworks to connect disparate systems and datasets across the enterprise.

    + Serves as the data subject matter expert for the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and usability.

    + Designs and implements advanced analytics solutions, including predictive models and statistical analyses, to support operational efficiency and strategic planning.

    + Creates and manages data schemas, relationships, and metadata for engineering datasets, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.

    + Develops dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    + Supports data governance initiatives by documenting data sources, definitions, and lineage across systems.

    + Stays current with industry trends in data science, electric utility operations, and asset management to inform best practices and innovation.

    + Provides training and guidance to internal teams on data tools, methodologies, and interpretation of analytical results.

    REQUIREMENTS

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.

    + Master’s degree preferred, especially with a focus on data science, machine learning, or systems engineering.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility engineering, data science, or data analytics

    + Experience working with or within electric utilities, particularly in engineering or asset management contexts, is preferred.

    + Familiarity with enterprise asset management systems and utility data structures (e.g., Bulk Electric System components)

    + Strong understanding of data modeling, algorithms, data integration, and data conversion.

    + Proficiency in Python and SQL

    + Knowledge of database design and management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).

    + Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data pipeline architecture.

    + Ability to analyze complex datasets and develop predictive models, especially for asset health, outage forecasting, and operational efficiency.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Knowledge of the Bulk Electric System and its components.

    + Experience with enterprise data governance and metadata management.

    + Exposure to GIS or geospatial data integration is a plus.
