Position Summary:
The Clinical Informatics Team Lead (Hospital-Based) serves as a key liaison between clinical departments and health IT within a hospital setting, playing a vital role in optimizing clinical systems and aligning informatics practices across multiple hospitals within the health system. This position leads efforts to standardize hospital-based workflows, documentation, and EHR usage while supporting the broader system goals of clinical and operational alignment.
Working closely with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and IT partners, the Team Lead ensures that clinical systems support high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care. This role is responsible for leading hospital-based informatics initiatives while contributing to enterprise-wide standardization and best practices across the system's acute care facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Mentor and support hospital informaticists while fostering engagement and continuous learning.
+ Guide and coordinate efforts to align clinical workflows and practices across the system with evidence-based standards and system-wide protocols.
+ Support EHR optimization initiatives to enhance usability, efficiency, and data integrity across inpatient and outpatient settings.
+ Facilitate change management and adoption strategies as part of system implementations, upgrades, or workflow redesigns.
+ Partner with multidisciplinary teams to identify, analyze, and address clinical documentation and workflow variability across facilities.
+ Develop and maintain clinical informatics policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
+ Provide guidance in leveraging reporting tools to inform decision-making and monitor clinical performance.
+ Support training, onboarding, and education efforts for clinicians related to informatics onboarding, initiatives and system changes.
+ Participate in assigned committees and workgroups related to clinical systems and practice alignment.
+ Manage and participate in the informatics on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
Required:
+ 5+ years of experience in a hospital setting.
+ 2+ years of experience in clinical informatics, with leadership or team coordination responsibilities.
+ Proven experience with electronic health record system management.
+ Strong understanding of clinical workflows and hospital operations.
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred:
+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, Health Informatics, or related field.
+ Clinical licensure (RN, PharmD, RT, etc.).
+ Certification in informatics (e.g., ANCC Informatics Nursing, HIMSS CPHIMS).
