St. Vincent’s Medical Center, with more than 3,200 associates, is a 473-bed community teaching hospital including a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group and St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services. It is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network and is the system’s second largest hospital. Position Summary: The Director of Initiative Integration and Regional Operations will be a strategic partner to Fairfield Region leadership team and will lead the implementation and optimization of regional priorities and capabilities that enhance operations. The Director will have direct leadership of several operational departments as well as being a strategic support partner for Balanced Score Card related workstreams, Master Facility Planning and Productivity/Position Control, as well as other strategic initiatives or special projects that occur within the region. Key Accountabilities: * Directs, monitors, and contributes to strategic projects and priorities, which are business critical in nature, highly complex and involve the creation and oversight of multifaceted teams * Oversees the performance and results for select Fairfield Region Operations departments ensuring that opportunities are afforded to staff to develop and maintain their skills at the highest standards * Ensures adherence to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls, in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies assigned areas * Has a key role in financial optimization and budgeting initiatives * Has a key role in the Master Facility Plan coordination in conjunction with hospital space management * Provides high level support for regional expense management initiatives * Develops and presents project and system database reports on a regular basis and as needed by leadership. Provides management and analysis of business data for use in decision making and organizational efficiency improvement initiatives * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare administration, public administration or a support services field is required * Five plus years of progressive healthcare leadership experience is required * Five plus years of project management experience is required. Project Management expertise in terms of chartering, stakeholder management and status reporting * Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills * Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal * Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization * A creative, forward-thinking leader with the proven ability to engage, coach and mentor direct reports, colleagues and other key stakeholders * Strong budget knowledge and skills, and experience with score metric monitoring and counter measure creation * High level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information from various sources * Demonstrated ability to develop short and long term operational and strategic plans. * Strong vendor and contract management skills * Strong ability to effectively monitor and manage the effectiveness of departmental functions and programs * Ability to identify, address and resolve complex problems We take great care of careers.
