    + Schedule - Monday thru Friday NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS

    + Hours - 7:30am to 4:00pm; Hours can vary between 6:00AM to 5:00PM, depending upon work location.

    + Position includes infrequent rotation between different Siteman Cancer Center laboratories (GCW downtown, South County and West County). Barnes West County location is considered the “home base” when not providing off-site phlebotomy coverage.

    Overview

    Preferred Qualifications

    Role Purpose

     

    Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.

    + Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.

    + Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
