    Cleveland Clinic provides evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Respiratory Therapy caregivers evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer.

     

    A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Perform respiratory therapy assessment with the guidance of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

    + Provide basic respiratory therapy modalities to both adult and pediatric patients.

    + Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

    + Attend in-service education lectures, programs, seminars and other educational opportunities.

    + Complete six months of on-the-job training to become familiar with equipment, develop the ability to perform independently and learn additional responsibilities specific to the institution.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Active enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or on-the-job trainee prior to 1986

    + After selection and placement into the position, six months of on-the-job training to become familiar with equipment, develop the ability to perform independently and learn additional responsibilities specific to the institution.

    + Current temporary limited permit to practice respiratory care (RCLP-L1) in the State of Ohio

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Prior experience in critical care and/or neonatal/pediatrics

    + Prior experience performing invasive procedures

    Physical Requirements:

    + Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

    + Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

    + May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.

    + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

     

    Pay Range

     

    Minimum hourly: $20.00

     

    Maximum hourly: $20.00

     

    The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
