Summary:

Meta is looking for a talented, highly motivated engineer to join the Edge and Network Services team. This team is responsible for processes and systems for deploying and supporting one of the world’s largest, most complex, and robust networks. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for executing on our vision for integrating detection, triaging and directed repair into our pipeline for networks supporting AI/ML applications. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of global networking at Meta.

Required Skills:

Network Engineer, Foundation Services Automation Responsibilities:

1. Automation and integration into existing pipelines, alerting, triage and repair for IP, Ethernet, and non-Ethernet networks

2. Improve efficiency through automation and processes improvements

3. Collaborate with internal and cross functional partner teams to define and automate optimal workflows for network deployment and repair

4. Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/orgs, come up with the execution plan and drive the project and influence other teams to reach there

5. Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events

6. Work with partner teams, understand their challenges, help them find a solution natively or lead effort working with cross functional teams to deliver systems/platforms/tooling

7. Help with recruiting and onboarding of new members to the team. Help them by mentoring and assuring their quick ramp up within our environment

8. Perform detailed troubleshooting and engage with cross functional teams to fix system/tooling issues

9. Drive requirements with cross functional teams to align our internal tooling efforts

10. Help make the people around you move faster by identifying issues slowing the team down and driving changes to address them

Minimum Qualifications:

11. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

12. 10+ years of experience Automation experience in the Networking domain in large scale networks

13. Knowledge and Experience with Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies

14. Knowledge and experience in Python

15. Knowledge and experience with Rest APIs

16. Knowledge of Linux OS/networking

17. Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers)

18. Experience working within a global team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision

19. MS or Graduate work experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline

20. Experience with developing or operating distributed systems at scale

21. Knowledge of technology-agnostic approach to engineering

Public Compensation:

$133,000/year to $190,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
