GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reports to the Program Chair, who must be designated and responsible for the coordination of both first year and second-year cohort for the DMS program’s Abdomen-Extended/ Obstetrics and Gynecology Concentration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Develop, design, and deliver instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator and review and assist with revision as needed for department policies and procedures
+ Provide course syllabi for instruction in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator
+ Develop, design, and deliver instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator
+ Participate in student advising and mentoring, formulate and administer student competencies as needed
+ Engage in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship and service
+ Grade examinations and assignments and review evaluations with students, meet all established deadlines set by the College for testing assignments and grade submissions
+ Review and assist with revisions needed for department policies and procedures
+ Identify and recommend to the Department Chair appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences
+ Coordinate clinical schedules and visit clinical sites as needed.
+ Coordinates clinical education and evaluates effectiveness. Provides recommendations for improvement to Program Chair.
+ Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned from accreditation
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
+ Possess an academic degree no lower than a bachelor’s degree
+ Possess the appropriate credential (RDMS (AB, OB/GYN),) specific to the concentration(s) that s/he is designated to coordinate
+ Has documented experience in preceptorship or supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and in educational theories and technique
+ Has at least three years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
