Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides leadership by coordinating management activities and care delivery for a patient care unit. Supervises assigned employees and oversees area daily operations, programs, and activities consistent with Department Leadership’s direction. Exercises management responsibilities through problem solving collaboration as delegated by Department Manager.

Essential Accountabilities:

+ Provides leadership by facilitating and coordinating clinical care.

+ Ensures the provision of, or directly provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure adherence with legal, ethical and clinical standards.

+ Achieves business goals and clinical/quality outcomes by participating as a member of the care team.

+ Ensures quality treatment by providing direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, consulting with other specialist and adjusting nursing care processes to comply with legal, ethical and clinical standards.

+ Participates in and provides continuing education for staff, patients and families and /or community.

+ Supports departmental operations by completing other duties as assigned or requested.

What qualifications you will need:

**Required Education:** Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Nurses with an Associate Degree or Diploma in nursing must sign agreement to obtain BSN within 6 years of the hire date in to position. Nurses who are nearing the end of their professional career may be exempted from this requirement with CNO System Council approval.

Required License:

+ Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Compact license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON;

+ BCLS

**Preferred License:** National Certification in area

**Required Experience:** 2 years nursing experience

**Preferred Experience:** 3 years nursing, 2 years of supervisory experience
