Join our team to build a Native AI Authoring Framework. In this role, you'll set the technical direction and build the foundation for LLM Authoring within our rendering architecture. You'll have the opportunity to create new paradigms for authoring with Generative AI that will transform how content is created and managed.

This position requires a forward-thinking engineer who can translate complex technical challenges into innovative solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable systems that power our LLM authoring capabilities. In this role, you'll be a technical leader who guides architectural decisions and mentors other team members while working on technology that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible with GenAI.

Key job responsibilities

- Set the technical direction for the LLM Authoring framework, designing solutions that balance immediate needs with long-term architectural vision

- Lead projects requiring multiple engineers' collaboration, ensuring high-quality implementation of the next generation rendering architecture

- Design and develop optimal data structures and algorithms for the LLM authoring framework, considering performance tradeoffs and constraints

- Collaborate with tech leads and Product Engineers to whiteboard new ideas and translate them into working solutions

- Mentor and coach other engineers while advocating for engineering best practices across the team

A day in the life

Your day typically starts with collaborating with peers both within your team and across partner teams to create innovative authoring solutions with GenAI. You'll spend time whiteboarding and ideating with tech leads and Product Engineers, turning creative concepts into practical implementation plans. Throughout the day, you'll work on complex technical challenges, review architectural decisions, write high-quality code, and provide guidance to team members as you collectively build the future of LLM authoring technology.

We work at the intersection of GenAI and user-friendly authoring tools, creating technology that empowers creators to work more efficiently and effectively. The team focuses on innovation while maintaining a collaborative culture where ideas are freely shared and refined. As we build the foundation for next generation rendering architecture, we're creating solutions that will shape how CX is authored in the age of GenAI.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
